Become an ASI Sponsor
Support the Mission. Share the Journey. Be Recognized.

Every worthwhile undertaking depends on people and organizations willing to help move it forward.

ASI is developing a sponsorship program that invites businesses, corporations, professionals, and service providers to support our maritime heritage mission through financial contributions, equipment, products, materials, or services.

In return, ASI will offer agreed public recognition that acknowledges each sponsor’s contribution and connects their business with the work they help make possible.

From a neighborhood restaurant to a marine equipment manufacturer, from a local bank to a technology company, sponsors can contribute in ways that reflect their resources, expertise, and interests.

Help equip the vessel, support an educational project, preserve a family story, or bring a community event to life.

A Place for Businesses of Every Size
We welcome sponsorship inquiries from across the business community, including:
-
Small businesses and independent professionals
-
Marine manufacturers, suppliers, boatyards, and service companies
-
Technology and communications companies
-
Banks, credit unions, and financial institutions
-
Restaurants, caterers, grocery stores, and food suppliers
-
Hotels, inns, and hospitality businesses
-
Real estate agents and agencies
-
Printers, sign makers, and promotional-product suppliers
-
Photography, video, and creative-production businesses
-
Transportation, storage, and logistics providers
-
Retailers, distributors, and corporate giving programs
-

A useful contribution does not have to be large. A clearly defined service or a needed product can help complete an important part of a project.

What Sponsors Can Support

S/V American Saudade and the Heritage Voyage
Support the refit, preparation, and documentation of ASI’s sailing vessel as we work toward the planned Great Circle Heritage Voyage.
Potential contributions include approved marine equipment, rigging services, sails, fabrication, electrical components, communications systems, tools, safety equipment, and professional technical assistance.

Voyage-related sponsorship may also support educational documentation and approved logistical needs. Participation will reflect the project’s stage of development and actual requirements.

Education, Research, and Digital Resources
Help ASI develop learning materials, historical research, videos, digital collections, and community presentations.
Support might include computers, scanners, cameras, microphones, software access, printing, archival supplies, or professional services.

Community Events and Activities
Help make an approved ASI gathering, presentation, exhibition, or fundraising event possible.
A restaurant might provide catering. A grocery store might supply refreshments. A hotel might provide meeting space. A printer might produce programs or signs. A transportation company might assist with an approved delivery.
These contributions can reduce costs while introducing sponsors to the communities participating in ASI’s work.

The Broader ASI Mission
Businesses may also discuss support for ASI’s overall operations or another approved initiative. We will work together to identify a contribution that meets a practical need and can be delivered responsibly.

Financial, Product, and Service Sponsorships
Sponsorship can take several forms:
-
Financial support for an agreed project, event, or organizational purpose
-
Equipment or materials supplied for approved use
-
Donated products, refreshments, or event supplies
-
Professional or technical services
-
Venue access, storage, transportation, or other facilities
-
A combination of financial and in-kind support

All proposed products and services will be reviewed for suitability before acceptance. We will consider condition, compatibility, safety, scheduling, and any ongoing costs associated with the contribution.

Please contact ASI before purchasing, shipping, or delivering items on our behalf.

Recognition for Your Participation
Sponsorship brings an opportunity to make your contribution visible.

Depending on the agreement, available space, and the activity supported, recognition may include:
-
Business name, logo, and website link on ASI’s website
-
A sponsor profile explaining the contribution
-
Acknowledgments on Facebook and other ASI social channels
-
Recognition in relevant videos, newsletters, or project updates
-
Event signage and printed materials
-
Verbal acknowledgment at an event or presentation
-
Recognition associated with the equipment, service, or project supported
-
Selected vessel, crew-apparel, or display placement where appropriate and approved
-

Recognition will be planned in proportion to the contribution and the opportunities ASI can realistically provide.
Vessel graphics and equipment-related displays must remain compatible with safe operation, required markings, available space, and the vessel’s presentation.

A Sponsorship That Fits Your Business
ASI intends to develop opportunities such as:
-
Community Sponsor - Support an approved local activity or organizational need.
-
Event Sponsor - Help provide a venue, food, printing, services, or financial support for a specific event.
-
Equipment and Services Sponsor - Supply an approved product or professional service.
-
Program Sponsor - Support a defined educational, cultural, research, or media initiative.
-
Voyage Sponsor - Support an agreed aspect of vessel preparation or the planned heritage voyage.

These are proposed sponsorship categories. Contribution amounts, availability, and recognition packages will be established as the program develops.

A local business and a national corporation may participate differently. Each arrangement should be useful to ASI, understandable to the sponsor, and practical to fulfill.

Clear Agreements and Responsible Recognition
Before a sponsorship begins, ASI and the sponsor will agree on:
-
The contribution and its intended purpose
-
Delivery dates, responsibilities, and any conditions
-
Recognition materials and approved use of names and logos
-
Where recognition will appear and for how long
-
Any advertising or additional promotional benefits
-
Arrangements if an event or project changes
-
Any agreed exclusivity or special designation
-

Public acknowledgment will accurately describe the sponsor’s contribution. Sponsorship does not give a business control over ASI’s historical conclusions, educational content, or operational decisions.

Audience reach, sales, media coverage, and voyage dates will not be guaranteed. Specific advertising requests will be considered separately from general sponsor acknowledgment.

Building the Program Responsibly
ASI’s sponsorship program is under development.
We are preparing the contribution procedures, recognition options, agreements, and administrative arrangements needed to support a reliable program. Opportunities will be introduced as projects become ready and ASI has the capacity to fulfill its commitments.
We welcome conversations now with businesses interested in helping shape a suitable sponsorship.
No business will be identified as a confirmed sponsor without its agreement.

Let’s Discuss Your Contribution
Tell us about your business, what you would like to support, and the products, services, equipment, or financial assistance you could offer.
We can then discuss the relevant project, practical requirements, and available recognition opportunities.
Your business brings something valuable to the community. ASI offers an opportunity to connect that contribution with heritage, learning, and purposeful work.

ACTA NON VERBA
Deeds, Not Words.

A meal can bring people together. A camera can preserve a story. A skilled repair can advance the refit. Financial support can help an educational idea become a usable resource.

Together, these contributions help build the ASI mission.

Support the work. Share the journey. Let us recognize the difference you help make.
